WE ARE PROUDLY LOCAL
CMT Excavations understands what it means to be local, and to support local.
We live and work in the Bay of Plenty, we take pride in our community and we have personal relationships with many of our clients.
We have a great mix of professionalism and friendliness; we understand your needs and meet your expectations.
Locally Owned. Locally Focused.
Matt has been in the earthworks industry for over 30 years in New Zealand, Australia and the UK.
He started CMT in 2005 with one digger and truck and has grown the business over the last 17 years.
Matt is very much involved in the day to day running of the business, and you will find him spending his days meeting clients, pricing jobs, running day to day operations and managing our health & safety programme.
The father of 3 very busy girls, he is kept on his toes with afternoon & weekend activities – especially with the Papamoa Surf Life Club which CMT has supported for many years in both sponsorship and the girls being involved in Junior Surf.
Rian joined the CMT team in January 2021.
He came on board to help steer CMT into the future with a new vision and direction. Core values are integral to Rian: Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Development and Safety First-Safety Always.
With a background in Fleet Management, Rian brings across years of experience in managing teams & machinery. Building and maintaining relationships is the backbone of his day.
As a master drummer, if he wasn’t working with CMT he would (apparantly!) be out touring with his band Disconnector – selling out the likes of Wembley Arena.
Sandra has been with CMT for the past couple of years.
As an experienced Company Accountant with a history of working in the construction industry, she keeps CMT on track regarding all things financial.
Sandra is skilled in Analytical Skills, Management, SAP ERP, Contract Management, and Office Administration. She has a strong finance professional with a Bachelor’s Degree focused in Accounting.
As a member of Bay Dragons, her spare time is filled with Dragon Boat Racing; a sport that originated in China in which 20 paddlers sitting in pairs paddle a 12 metre long narrow boat with a sweep to steer the boat and a drummer to beat time.
